Arriving by Train
We are approximately 20 minutes walk from both Haymarket and Waverley train station. For train times and information, please visit the First Scotrail website.
To walk from Haymarket station:
Exit the station and turn right. Walk past Ryrie's pub, and cross Dalry Road at the traffic lights, turning left and then following the path round to the right onto Morrison Street.
Walk up Morrison Street for approximately 10 minutes, passing the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on your left, and later Sainsbury's on your right.
When you reach the Odeon Cinema cross Morrison Street at the Lothian Road Junction, and walk down Lothian Road until you pass the Filmhouse Cinema on your left.
Cross Lothian Road at the pedestrian crossing just downhill from the Filmhouse. Turn left and go round The Stationery Office Bookshop on the corner to the right. The Usher Hall will be on your left, and The Lyceum will be ahead of you on Grindlay Street.
To walk from Waverley Station:
Exit the station onto Princes Street, and turn left. Cross Waverley Bridge, and proceed along Princes Street for approximately 10 minutes, passing the Scott Monument on your left, and later the Royal Scottish Academy building, also on your left.
Cross The Mound here and continue along Princes Street until you reach St John's Church, on the corner of Princes Street and Lothian Road.
Turn left up Lothian Road, and walk for approximately 5 minutes crossing Kings Stables Road and Castle Terrace until you reach a small clock tower. The Usher Hall will be to your left on the other side of Grindlay Street.
Follow Grindlay Street round to the right hand side of the Usher Hall and and The Lyceum will be ahead of you on Grindlay Street.
Arriving by Car
As Edinburgh is a very busy city, congestion can at times make driving difficult or slow - if possible, using public transport is often a better alternative.
If you are driving however, we recommend parking in the nearby Castle Terrace Car Park. Located 2 minutes from the theatre on Castle Terrace, the car park holds 750 cars, is lit and is open 24 hours.
Very limited parking is also directly available opposite the Lyceum on Grindlay Street itself, and there are a number of disabled spaces 150 yards along the road. (Please note that due to the current Usher Hall extension works Grindlay Street is intermittently closed to traffic at present)
