Easter and Summer: workshops for young people

Easter and Summer workshops in acting, performance, technical theatre and design
The Lyceum Youth Theatre offers young people aged 7-18 years the opportunity to experience the world of professional theatre and take part in workshops during the holidays.
Details of what’s coming up are below.
Easter Holiday Workshops
Workshops are available to book now via the box office on 0131 248 4848. Our Easter programme is very popular so book early to avoid disappointment.
Design for Theatre (13-18 years)
Tuesday 6 April 2010, 10am-4pm
£25/ £10 conc.
Develop skills and gain hands on experience in costume and set design and find out more from theatre designers.
Working with Directors and Audition techniques (13-18 years)
Wednesday 7 – Friday 9 April 2010, 10am-4pm
£70/ £30 conc.
Work with professional theatre directors and gain confidence in tackling scripts, responding to direction and approaching auditions.
Lighting for Theatre (13-18 years)
Tuesday 13 April 2010, 10am-4pm
£25/ £10 conc.
An practical introduction to rigging, focusing, colour and design in theatre lighting. Work with experienced technicians and find out how it all happens.
LYT Quest (8-12 years)
Wednesday 14- Friday 16 April 2010, 10am-4pm
£70/ £30 conc.
Improvisation, script work, stage combat, make up and special effects. Can you convince the audience you're someone else?
Summer on Stage
Summer on Stage is a chance for young people to experience the world of professional theatre and take part in a production for the Lyceum stage.
