Community Outreach

The Lyceum Theatre Company has had a dedicated Education programme since 1993. Over this period of time the Company has built up an excellent reputation for its work with schools and for young people, especially the work of the Lyceum Youth Theatre (LyT).

With funding from the Scottish Arts Council’s Audience Development fund, the Company has researched ways of enhancing the experience of coming to the Lyceum through a range of learning events and activities.

As part of this Participation Programme [link] we run Theatre Classes, Pre-Show Talks, Post-show Discussions, Theatre Tours and Drama Workshops. These timetabled events run during the Season (September – May each year) and are open to anyone over the age of 16 years.

We have also begun to develop ways of working with groups of people in Community Education settings with a view to providing learning opportunities and theatre visits for this sector. Choose from the links on the right for further information.

We welcome ideas for future Outreach projects. For further information or to discuss an idea for a project with our Education department, please call Lucy Vaughan, Head of Education on 0131 248 4838 or email lvaughan@lyceum.org.uk.
